"We provide access to creative therapy and skill-building opportunities for vulnerable individuals, equipping them with the tools to transform their lives and to be self-sustainable by creating eco-friendly sustainable handmade products."

Business Snapshot

Benang Studio was founded in 2019 by Eleanor Nandong with the mission to create sustainable eco-friendly hand knitted and crochet products that goes against the grains of fast fashion. What started off as a hobby slowly propelled into a micro business and eventually turned into a social enterprise in 2024 as the Stitching Hope initiative was created with co-founder, An-Nur Nabillah. Stitching Hope focuses on empowering women, single mothers and domestic abuse survivors to create a safe space to express themselves through craft therapy whilst imparting skills to be self-sustainable.

Working with Satu Creative

Our journey with Satu Creative materialised  our idea and vision. It opened a pathway for Benang to confidently transition into a social enterprise and work with domestic abuse survivors, single mothers, and women in the B40 group. Every session with the coaches made us understand our business more, made us more confident in believing and pitching our idea. Satu Creative provided invaluable networking experiences with people in the industry and other impactful businesses that joined the program. Thank you for the opportunity given to showcase what our business is about and sharing it with others. This journey has opened doors that would have taken years to open on our own. Everyone on the team had their own distinct role and they pulled it off very well. They are all very helpful and engaging and they try their best to help us in any way they can.
